Church and Community Center

in the Indigenous Region

A Church in "nothing-where."

Our base for almost all ministry we are doing with the indigenous peoples is now in The community Christian Church of Ara Vera, Faith and new hope Community Center. When our son Andrew was only 3, he named this town "nothing-where." It's true... there isn't much of anything out here. BUT, there are a group of people, eager to hear the word of God. There are a group of people that want to learn, grow, and excel, but they live completely separated from most of society. We were presented this shell of a church "building" and asked to pray what to do.  We presented the project to a Church in Missouri, and they provided the money to complete the project! We now have a beautiful church building, training center, place to house missionaries, and much more!!

A place to Thrive.

We are in the beginning stages now of beginning our community garden! This will serve as a place to learn to garden, but also to learn to serve, and work to earn what you need. Those that work will be able to eat from the garden! None of the produce will be sold for profit, and it will truly be a community effort. Thanks to generous donors, we were also able to build a 2,000 Liter water tank. This supplies all the water to the church, community center, and garden. We have met so many people in the nearby villages that are suffering from severe malnutrition. We are believing that this community garden will be the first of many, and serve this entire area well!

A place to grow.

Behind the church, sits the training and equipping center. What we have found is that most people WANT to live better. They want to learn a trade, learn to read, study something, or learn to provide for their family well, however; there are little to no opportunities within their reach to do this. This building will be the hub to help our beautiful neighbors grow! The goal is to provide spiritual discipleship, literacy classes, cooking classes, sewing classes, small engine repair and carpentry classes, and much more!
